The post Danish Game Translation of Feudal Alloy appeared first on Mark Hjorth.
]]>Feudal Alloy is, as Attu Games put it themselves, “an epic action adventure with fish-controlled medieval robots!”
While browsing twitter I came across a post by Eva Balikova, one of the game developers from Attu Games. The post was of Feudal Alloy and the game immediately caught my interest.
Ever since my last game project I had been looking for something new to do in the game industry. Being a Danish game developer I thought I might as well put my Danish translating skills to work.
I reached out to Eva to hear if they wanted a Danish translation of their game. Shortly after Eva replied that it would be awesome with a danish translation.
I went to work on it right away and started translating the strings that Eva had sent me. At this point I had an idea of what the game was about, but didn’t know the full story of Feudal Alloy. As I translated more and more of the game into danish the puzzle peaces started to form a greater picture.
After a while I had mostly finished the Danish game translation and understood more and more of the story. But had yet to play the game – to my luck Eva game me access to a beta version of the game so I could try it for myself.
Feudal Alloy is available on steam.
As always, you’re welcome to contact me here wether you just want to say hello, have some comments or for business inquiries.

Apart from the site functioning as a portfolio for the artist, Christina Thomsen, Art By CH also worked as a shop to show which original works was on sale and to offer prints of her art.
The webshop was also using the newest payment technologies, such as Apple Pay through Stripe, to create the smoothest and easiest experience, for the users of the website, as possible
The site has since been closed by request from Christina. You can find her art on Christina’s Instagram page.

]]>Right now you might be thinking; what is Plai? And let me get right to that…
Plai is a game platform where you can go for all your gaming needs. Now you might be thinking about other gaming platforms, and how Plai differ from those. Plai is a little different than the other platforms, as Plai allows you to split up the payment. Say you want to try a game that you’ve heard about, but you’re not sure if its worth the money. On Plai you can decide to pay for the game on an hourly basis – you will never have to pay more than the games full cost, but it allows you to try out games that you’re not sure about, without committing to buying the game and paying the full price. So if you play a game at an hourly rate of $2.00 and the games full cost is $10, then after 5 hours of playing the game, you will have payed the full price, and the game is then yours to keep forever.
If you’d like, you can read more on Plai’s official website here.
Personally I’m very excited about this, as I’ve often come across games which seem cool, but the price is steep – this would lead me to go onto the internet to find videos, reviews and so on. But now I can just try it out, for a minimal price, to see if I like it – thats genius if you ask me!
But enough of me fanboy rambling. Let’s talk about the internship.
My internship at Plai was as a programmer, and to be more precise I was a full stack developer. I did anything from SQL queries to back end business logic, making API’s for the system and developing front end for both the user to see, but also the admin dashboard. Even though I wouldn’t call myself the most experienced front end developer, it was pretty fun to be thrown out into something that I wouldn’t usually spend that much time on. Although I did a bit of complaining about it, Vue.Js started to grow on me, to the point where I would consider using it for future projects.
In my internship I got more experience with front end development, as well as getting familiar with some of the different frameworks that is used in the back end development of Plai. My memory of SQL got refreshed and I got a good understanding of the architecture of Plai and their use of Microsoft Azure. I really enjoyed my time at Plai, and I can’t wait for their public release!

]]>This app explores the options for controlling an Android phone from a computer. The application is be able to control a range of settings and features in the Android device, such as sending texts and toggling the Flightmode option.
The technologies in the app includes, but are not limited to, socket programming, ADB, basic Android development and threads.
Installing this software allows anyone to set up a controlling computer and pair it with an android phone. The computer will then be able to send testing commands to the phone for automatic wireless tests.
A report for the development of this app can be found at UC Viden.
The projects source code can be found on my GitHub page here.
